Marcella Bustamante entered provincial politics to fight for the environment and social justice. A damage insurance broker, she also has a DEC in paralegal technology from CÉGEP Ahuntsic, as well as a BAC in political science, with a concentration in international relations from UQAM.
Mother of three children, Marcella has just settled in Saint-Jérôme after growing up in Montreal and living in Laval for more than 25 years. She chose to settle in Saint-Jérôme with her family in order to be closer to nature, to take advantage of the city’s unique character and to benefit from local services.
The fight against overconsumption and waste, a better quality of life for our seniors and a more efficient health care system are all issues that are very close to her heart. A committed feminist, Ms. Bustamante wishes to fight for more equity in the workplace, including pay equity, and for better access for women to management positions, which are unfortunately still far from being achieved.
On the local level, she wishes to preserve the Lac Jérôme woodland, to introduce free public transportation and to address the major deficiencies in the city’s waste and recycling system. A convinced eco-socialist, Marcella Bustamante supports free education at all levels in order to give all those who wish to pursue their studies the opportunity to do so without going into debt. A committed community volunteer, she has been involved in the Montreal municipal campaign with Valérie Plante’s team, the gay pride parade and her church.
In her spare time, Marcella loves to paint with many colors and transform used clothes to give them a new useful life. She also enjoys practicing Latin dance, exercising, taking walks, taking care of her family and exploring new horizons.
For Marcella Bustamante, every vote cast on behalf of the Green Party of Quebec demonstrates that our ideas resonate with the public, help us to take our place in the public debate, and contribute to the funding of the Green Party through the per-vote grant. For all these reasons (and more), Marcella would be honoured to have your support in the 2022 Quebec general election.
