Pierre Cyr lives in Fort-Coulonge where he settled after a career with NAVCANADA as an airport manager and national aviation safety specialist; a career that took him to many cities across Canada. It is with great energy, optimism and a desire to make our society evolve that he has chosen to enter politics now that he has his time.

Father of two children, Mr. Cyr wants to leave them a healthy planet with a sustainable economy. He wants to give back to society and advance the Green Party of Quebec; a political party that deeply connects with his values and vision for the future. He supports our approach that takes into account all the human, societal, economic and environmental elements of the ecological transition which, under a Green government, will be rapid, equitable and robust. We need to think differently!

On the local level, Mr. Cyr wants to revive the region by restoring people’s confidence in the territory, by developing a local, green and sustainable economy with more autonomy, confidence and joie de vivre. He is perfectly bilingual and knows Quebec and its regions very well.

On the national level, Pierre is happy to represent a federalist option that aims for a better Canada and more power for all provinces. He brings a managerial perspective to politics and wants to build the local, circular and social economy by inviting citizens to trust and empower by creating a buzz of local autonomy and fostering regional pride. Instead of waiting for a big factory, mine or natural resource exploitation, let’s take things in hand to build the Quebec and Pontiac of our dreams by reaching our full potential while promoting social equity and respect for the environment as much as possible.

In his spare time, Pierre is a pilot, instructor and hot air balloon engineer. He is involved in his community, notably with the Fort Coulonge Recreation Association. A nature lover, Pierre is a meteorological expert. He is also pursuing, part-time, a university certification in counselling and has been involved, for over 30 years, with people struggling with addiction problems. He is also co-founder of the Cockburn House in Drummondville, which offers stable housing for people with mental health challenges.

For Pierre Cyr, every vote cast on behalf of the Green Party of Quebec demonstrates that our ideas resonate with the public, help us gain traction in the public debate and contribute to the funding of the Green Party through the per-vote subsidy. For all these reasons (and more) Pierre Cyr would be honoured to have your support in the 2022 Quebec general election. Each vote counts !
