Today I participated in a debate at Dawson College with candidates from several other parties.
We discussed issues that are important to today’s youth, including the fight against climate change, systemic racism and its impact on aboriginal communities, the need to overcome right-wing nationalism, and building a more inclusive province.
It is always a pleasure to debate these issues with other candidates and especially to do so in front of young people. I had some of my first political experiences in Dawson, in the same room, asking questions of politicians in similar debates. It was great to be back in Dawson, the school I attended, especially since the CAQ and PQ campaigned against its much needed expansion.
Tomorrow I will be at Loyola High School for another debate! Long live democracy!
