This morning, former Quebec premier Jean Charest wrote an open letter to LaPresse bashing the international fossil fuel divestment campaign. He specifically criticizes Concordia’s decision to divest $5 million.
Charest is a well known for advocating in favour of fracking, tar sands and many other disastrous environmental policies. The fact that he is attacking the divestment movement, particularly at Concordia is a sign that the movement is gaining force, recognition and notoriety.
Let’s keep up the pressure for 100% sustainable investments at Concordia and beyond!
