Today I reiterate my support for an independent police investigation unit.
At the present time, investigations into police work are simply done by another police force. This practice, and an unwritten code of silence within police forces, makes it almost impossible to hold a police officer accountable for his or her actions; even when a life is lost.
An independent investigative service is already in place in Ontario.
The time to act is now.
